One of our clients is a leading real estate company in India and has 75 years of legacy in serving customers in this sector. The company has a diverse portfolio of properties including residential, commercial, and retail properties. It has also been recognized for its efforts in environmental sustainability and social responsibility. Our customer is committed to sustainable development and has taken several initiatives to focus on quality and world-class hospitality.

With a keen eye for detail, a dedication to providing distinctive services, and a genuine warmth and concern for their customers, this company is setting the bar high for others in the industry.

As the hospitality industry strives to cater to the diverse needs of its guests, they tend to equip themselves with recreational centers to keep customers engaged. Among these rooms, smoking rooms are always kept away from the rest and are furnished with ventilation systems to reduce the smoke’s impact on the surrounding environment.

One of the biggest challenges in smoking rooms is the presence of secondhand smoke. Moreover, smoking rooms can be a source of unpleasant odours that can travel through ventilation systems and affect nearby areas. The smell of smoke can be persistent and difficult to eliminate, which can be a significant issue in places where non-smokers are present.

Even if smoking is limited to designated areas, the smoke can still travel through the ventilation system and affect the air quality throughout the building. This can be particularly problematic for guests with respiratory issues or other health concerns.

In addition to secondhand smoke, smoking rooms can also be a breeding ground for other air pollutants.

Chemicals / Carcinogens: Secondhand smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, including 69 known carcinogens which may cause health risks.

Odour: Smoke from tobacco products can leave a strong, unpleasant odor that can linger in the room and affect indoor air quality.

Particulate matter: It also produces fine particulate matter that can be inhaled deep into the lungs, causing respiratory problems for both smokers and non-smokers.

Air circulation: Proper air circulation is essential to maintain the good indoor air quality in smoking rooms. However, smoking rooms may not have adequate ventilation systems, which can lead to stagnant air and increased levels of pollutants.

PurAir350 With Remote

Solution:

To address these challenges the client initially opted for a solution that was supplied by a local manufacturer in Pune, India. But the client found some performance-related issues with the equipment. The installed equipment could not :

  • Capture unfiltered air and directly release it into the outer environment.
  • Treat the indoor air in the smoke room.
  • Create a comfortable environment for the building occupants.
  • Provide good indoor air quality [IAQ]

The client team [architecture team] consulted with one of the American Air Filter [AAF] dealers, i.e., Air Exchange Solutions [AES], India. The channel partner visited the client’s place and understood the current scenario and the type of indoor air pollution impacting the premises.  After a detailed discussion with the client, AAF Dealer AES analyzed the situation and recommended 2 stage ceiling mounted air purifier i.e., PurAir350C to address the challenges.

AES, with the support of the AAF team, presented a live demonstration of the recommended unit to the client’s team, thereby impressing them with the solution. Eventually, the suggested solution boosted the IAQ, which helped win the order.

Customer was satisfied with the result demonstrated by PurAir 350C. The following salient features of PurAir350C got the customers’ attention:
