Bag In/ Bag Out Side Access Filter

HEPA Module

Product Overview

The AAF Bag In/Bag Out Side Access filter system is a safe, simple, reliable method for removing contaminated particulate filters and/or gas absorbers used for air purification in hazardous environments. With this system, maintenance personnel are protected from coming in direct contact with the interior of the housing and hazardous contaminants during filter change-out and testing.

Each removal bag is cinched to a collar inside the housing door to prevent any leakage of contaminants during filter replacement. Similarly, new filters are installed with the aid of a protective plastic bag. At no time during the change-out is the external atmosphere exposed to contamination from within the filter housing.

Containment Bag

A bag kit is shipped for use with each door. Each PVC containment bag is 108” long and furnished with three internal “gloves” to facilitate safe removal of up to three filters.

A full set of cinching straps and safety straps is also furnished.

External Locking Mechanism

All gasket seal filters and adsorbers are furnished with a replaceable clamp type locking mechanism which is actuated from outside the housing. Filter seals can be “fine-tuned” as needed without opening the door.

An optional security device is available to turn an external locking mechanism into an internal locking mechanism. This requires that the door be opened for the locking mechanism to be activated.

Internal Locking Mechanism

All fluid seal filters are sealed using an internally actuated locking arm.

Specifications

Features

  • The single filter housing should be complete with HEPA final filter
  • Housing should be fabricated from 12 & 14 gauge type 304-L stainless steel suitably reinforced to withstand +/- 10” w.g. pressure. All main internal parts should be type 304 stainless steel.
  • One oval access opening should be provided for each single filter type being used to accommodate installation and removal of final filter and pre-filter into a plastic bag. Two “O” ring type grooves in the oval bagging flange are provided. The bags are completely contained within the housing after attachment of the opening cover.
  • All welders and welding procedures should be qualified in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Code, Section IX
  • Deep Adsorber Housing- Housings are available for 12”, 16” and 18” deep adsorber filter cells. These cells typically use Carbon/Charcoal as the adsorbent. When additional residence time is required, these units can be furnished in series, or operated at lower face velocities.
  • Pressure Testing- Each housing is designed to withstand +/- 20” WG and factory tested to +10” WG in accordance with ASME AG-1, ANSI/ASME N 509 and N 510, to ensure overall housing integrity.
  • Upstream Filter Seal- Each HEPA filter and adsorber seals against the air entering face of the frame to prevent interior contamination build-up.
  • It is strongly recommended to use BIBO unit in Isolation rooms in exhaust air
